Filling Aesthetics is important in eliminating wrinkles and the decrease in collagen in the skin over time as a result of age, smoking, sun and gravity. And if this process is not intervened, the amount of fat in the facial area decreases and the location of the fat changes and sagging begins to form on our face. The resulting sagging and pits are corrected with filling aesthetics.

To simplify the filling aesthetics; It is the reinforcement process applied to the area with insufficient volume. However, this is just a simplified version. The effect of filler aesthetics on the applied area varies depending on the type, structure and of course quality of the filler used.

Facial filler aesthetics; It can be said that the rejuvenating effect of the wrinkle remover on the upper face is equivalent to the lower face area. And when combined with facial fillers, the ‘passive wrinkles’ that I mentioned before, which cannot be eliminated by wrinkle removal, provide up to 100% improvement.

Although it is a procedure that has been very popular recently and has very successful results, it is a procedure that creates a lot of prejudice among our people due to the involvement of many physicians and non-physicians who are not authorized in this regard.

How Long Does Filling Aesthetics Last?

Before giving more detailed information, I would like to enlighten you about the permanence period of fillers. After the filler is injected into the area, it becomes integrated into the structure under our skin and some chemical reactions begin. This is the metabolization phase of the filler, which starts as soon as the filler is made. Depending on the quality and structure of the filler, it varies between 9 months and 3 years.

The other process that affects the chemical process is the mechanical process. In other words, whether or not the filled area is mobile or not. For example; It is not right to expect the lip filler and the filler applied to the nasolabial area or forehead area to melt in the same time. Since the lip is a mobile area, the melting time of lip filler is shorter than other areas.

Another factor that affects the filling time is the person’s lifestyle. The efficiency of the filling inevitably decreases in people who smoke, consume too much alcohol, and have poor sleep patterns. When a quality filler is used, the permanence period under optimal conditions is 9-18 months, and this period varies from person to person.

What Should We Pay Attention to When Having Filling Aesthetics?

The first thing you should pay attention to when having filler aesthetics is whether there is a hygienic environment and whether the person who will perform the application is a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. You may encounter undesirable results when the application is performed by other than authorized specialist doctors.

Another point you should pay attention to when having filler aesthetics; Whether the Filler Injector Has Been Newly Removed From Its Packaging! Why am I telling this? Because quality filling means expensive filling, and for this reason, there may be people who want to use half of the 1 ml syringe for you and the other half for another patient. The reason for this is to reduce the cost and therefore make the transaction cheaper than it deserves. If there is any leftover filler after the syringe is new, be sure to ask for the barcode number of that filler or request the remaining amount. (I open the filling material in front of my patients’ eyes, and if there is any remaining amount, I deliver it to the patient for a touch-up procedure, which we call touch-up, within 15-20 days.)

Why is this important? If the remaining filler is used on another patient, there is a possibility that the other patient will become infected and become infected, even if the tip of the syringe has been changed. This is a practice that puts your health at risk.

In Which Areas Can Filling Application Be Applied? How to Calculate the Amount of Filling Application?

Filling can be applied to any area deemed insufficient in volume (face, trunk, legs, etc.). Although the most popular applications are lips and blue lines (nasolabial groove and marionette lines), volumizing can be applied carefully to any area.

What needs to be taken into consideration is the patient’s wishes and the amount to be used is determined according to the patient’s wishes. For example, the amount applied for lip filler is not the same for every patient. While the lip volume of some patients is sufficient, the contour part is not clear and the amount of filler used to define the contour is not the same as the amount required to add volume. While 1 ml of filler is enough for some patients to get the result they want, some patients may need 2 ml or more. You and your doctor can best decide this.

How is Lip Filling Done?

With aging, thinning of the dermis layer in the lip area, loss of volume and flattening of the lip contour occur. To perform lip filler, the authorized practitioner must take these changes into consideration.

When performing lip filling, patient wishes should be at the forefront. When you look in the mirror, you should first decide what kind of lip structure makes you happy. After you decide, if what you want is anatomically and medically suitable, the required amount is calculated and the lip filling process begins.
